we are the 99%
maybe it's more accurate to call us "we
are the 99.95%."
The United States has so much money - and
so much poverty. Read the article in Mother
Jones Magazine, entitled Goodbye, Columbus.

Democracy is for people
As the 99%, we are just asking for Congress
to represent us. After all, the founding
Fathers and Mothers wrote documents that
said something about "of the
people, by the people and for the people."
There's nothing there that mentions corporations.
It's true that individuals do the dirty work of those corrupt
entities, but corporations have never been
and never will be people. It is also time
to revoke the charter of Citizens United. Those two words don't stand for us.
As the recent Election Day has confirmed,
the 99% have made great progress and will
continue to do so. If Congress does not listen
to us, it is up to us - the 99%
(we are all over the country) - to remove
those representatives and senators not serving us and replace them with those
who will. Note that the words in italics
in the last sentence are not in capital letters
since their approval rating is at 11%. Just
when you thought it couldn't get lower, I
recently read in the Hightower
Lowdown of December 2011 that the rating is at 9%
- I think the devil has a higher rating.
By the way, who are those people that actually
approve of Congress?
Are they comatose? Probably, just the lobbyists.
Congress is just like garbage and every so
often we have to remove it . This applies
to Democrats, Republicans
and all the other parties, especially those
that drink tea. I am a member of the Working Families Party and proud of it.
We have other things to take care of. Some
of these are:
1. Removing certain members of the Supreme Court, starting with those who gave us W as President
for 8 years.
There are some in the court who've made decisions
that went against our Constitution - Citizens
United is the most obvious.
2. Ending the influence of the PACs in the election
process.
3. Bringing all the men and women in the armed
services home - not in the next decade or the
next year, but now. Each of these people
can serve in the Peace Services, rebuilding
the infrostructure of
our country as well as working in other countries
to help others, much like the Peace Corps
of yesteryear.
4. End our reliance on fossil fuels, since they are so costly compared to green
technology. When the experts
mentioned that the costs of nuclear, coal,
gas and oil were so much less than wind and
solar, what were they smoking?
All that effort did was to create a smokescreen
to confuse and ignore a hidden, undeniable
concern about health care costs.
5. Tax the 1%
6. Retrieve our money from the thieves responsible for the world
economic crisis of 2008. For a list of
these crooks - many refused to talk to the
filmmakers - watch the 2010 movie, Inside Job. Some of them
are interviewed onscreen, but would have
been better off not appearing, sparing us
the el toro crappo.
The most distressing thing about this great
crime is that none of the perpetrators is
behind bars - rather
they're spending their time sitting at the
bar, having a scotch and water. It's time
to make them pay back
what they stole, fine them and put them in
jail, which will help to insure that this
doesn't happen again.
If you or I commited a much smaller offense,
we'd be put in prison or worse. It's time
justice is served.
7. Restore regulations, thus creating numerous jobs. This can be
paid for with the fines and some
of the cash obtained from the thieves already
mentioned. It will also spur the economy.
At the same
time, those making outrageous salaries need
to be taxed. This will also be a source of
necessary funds.
8. Pass the jobs bill. Rebuild the infrostructure and put people
back to work with high-paying jobs.
Some of these are listed above, but here's
a wish list for Santa

I've already mentioned the upsetting but
inspiring movie, Inside Job, but another one to move you to action -
really humorous, too - is The Yes Men Fix The World. Andy Bicklbaum & Mike Bonanno pull
hoaxes that you'll
applaud and hail them for their afforts.
They're one of the reasons for "we are
the 99%." Michael Moore's latest
book, Here Comes Trouble: Stories from my Life, will have you crying at times, but also
laughing.

This is a great deal of work, but we the
99% can, and have to do it - for ourselves
and for our children. We may
not have the money, but we have the power.
We can shut down a corporation by exercising
our choices in buying.

If you haven't seen any of the Yes Men movies, what are you waiting for?
Before the wall street movement, there was
a wall street bowel
movement. I don't have to tell you who the
unlucky recipients were.
A few years ago, Pat Metheny and David Bowie
collaborated on the song, This
is not America. It was appropriate then, but it certainly
belongs to our time.
Now, do something. Get involved. Thanks.
