Being the holiday season and all, I thought I'd include a recipe for pumpkin pie, which I
made for the first time at Thanksgiving. I know it's easier to go to the supemarket, buy a
pie and bake it, but as you can see, I did the whole thing from scratch, except for the shell.


pumpkin pie xxxxxxxx makes 2 pies
x
2 small pumpkins 2 tsp cinnamon
water fresh ground ginger
3 eggs 1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 cup maple syrup 2 graham cracker pie shells
2/3 cup orange juice
Cut the pumpkin in half or thirds and then slice each piece. Scrape out the seeds and
membrane with a spoon and peel each piece. Cut into small pieces, place in a medium
saucepan with enough water to cover, and cook until soft, about 10 minutes. Preheat
oven to 350 degrees. Mash the pumpkin, add it to a blender with the eggs, maple syrup,
orange juice and spices. Blend until smooth. Pour into pie shells and bake for 1 hour
or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream.
