Orange baked beans
Serves 8
   
1 # pinto beans 1/2 cup hickory barbecue sauce
water 1 large onion, chopped
2 Tbsp brown sugar 1/2 green pepper, chopped
8 oz. tomato sauce 3 Tbsp ketchup
3 Tbsp prepared mustard 1 orange, peeled and cubed
1 apple, sliced  

Soak the beans overnight. Drain and rinse thoroughly. Place soaked beans into a large Dutch oven and add water to just cover. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and cook for one half hour. Pour off most of the water and pour the beans into a crockpot. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat for 12 hours. Serve.
