Orange baked beans

Serves 8

| 1 # pinto beans | 1/2 cup hickory barbecue sauce | |
| water | 1 large onion, chopped | |

2 Tbsp brown sugar | 1/2 green pepper, chopped |
| 8 oz. tomato sauce | 3 Tbsp ketchup | |
| 3 Tbsp prepared mustard | 1 orange, peeled and cubed | |
| 1 apple, sliced | ||

Soak the beans overnight. Drain and rinse
thoroughly. Place soaked beans into a large
Dutch oven and add water to just cover. Bring
to a boil, lower the heat and cook for one
half hour. Pour off most of the water and
pour the beans into a crockpot. Add the remaining
ingredients and simmer over low heat for
12 hours. Serve. |
